New Years Grunge

Hey Y'all!
Today I have a grunge New Years Mani.
This design is super simple but the end result looks so much more involved.

Here's How:
I started with a base of OPI "Push&Shove." Just a quick base, it doesn't have to be perfect as we're gonna cover it up.

Then I added a few drops of black (Salon Perfect "Oil Slick") and a few drops of gold (Essence "A Piece Of Forever") and then 1 drop of silver (OPI "Push&Shove") just to keep the silver a little visible.

Next take a ziplock sandwich bag and place it onto the nail and smoosh it all around, blendin the colors together. Try not to blend too much or you will lose some of the colors.

Then we just cleanup the big spots with a qtip and acetone and the cuticle with a cleanup brush.

Last use your favorite top coat to seal it in. I use Salon Perfect as always.

And there's your design!
Here's the video: (I did captions for this one as I'm sick and don't have a voice)

I just love how this turned out. It's real grunge and yet so stunnin.
Also it's somethin super simple, and takes hardly no time and no tools. You could get this done in a half hour or less before a party, use a quick dry top coat and head out the door.

Hope y'all enjoyed this. If you get inspired by me use my tag #MagsyInspired on instagram so I can see!

Just a few more days til a brand new year!

New Years Abstract

Hey y'all!
It's time for New Years manis!
And since I didn't get to do a tutorial for my Christmas mani and I loved it I thought I would do a New Years version!
It's just a pretty silver and black abstract.

Start with a base coat and I used OPI "Lay Down That Base" because I also used OPI "Push & Shove" which seems to work better with it's base.

Then I painted 2 nails with "Push & Shove" and 2 nails with Salon Perfect "Oil Slick"

On the ring finger I put a coat of Salon Perfect "Silver Sparkler" glitter on top.

Then on the pinky I used a striper brush and some "Push & Shove" and drew a curly cue random abstract pattern over the black.

I added a few accent dots.

Then repeated the design in black on the silver.

Use your favorite top coat. I use Salon Perfect.

And you're done! pretty simple, but fun and glitzy.
Here's the video:

I hope y'all enjoyed this! I am hopin to have atleast 2 more New Years designs. It's always so crazy to me how soon New Years is right after Christmas! Who invented that?! We need more time to go from yay Christmas to Oh my let the new year begin! Gol!

Ariel's Underwater Failure

Hey Y'all!
Today I have one of my Christmas Presents that I had such high hopes for.
It is the Ariel polish collection from Walgreens. I though it was gonna be by ELF like the rest of the princess collections were, but it's by a company called NPW. I haven't ever heard of it not sure what it is exactly.
Anyways this is the collection. It's 5 scented polishes.
I really love the packaging. It's really cute and the bottles are kinda cute as well.
Here's the bottle shots.
The colors: Purple "Tropical Wave Grape"
Blue "Sea Breeze Cherry"
Teal "High Tide Blueberry"
Pink "Surfs Up Strawberry"
Yellow "For Shore Vanilla"

And Here are the swatches;
This is all the pictures I got and no watermarks because I did not like these at all. I did end up likin the two blues but that's about it. They are super goopy and do not mix well. They need tooooons of time to dry in between coats and they take a lot of polish to be opaque. The smells are actually pretty good though. They have strong scents and they last onto the nail as well as in the bottle.
I really wanted to like these a lot but the goopiness and the workability is not fun at all.

I know this post is short but I just had to tell someone how disappointed I was. Gol.

Ah well, it was a nice try.

12DOCC: Christmas Food

Hey y'all!
Today is the FINAL prompt for the 12 Days Of Christmas Challenge!
Yeehaw I finally finished it just in time for Christmas!
I had so much fun doin this challenge and am overly happy with all my designs!
Today is "Christmas Food" and I chose Gingerbread Cookies!

Here's How;

Start with a brown base: I chose Pure Ice "Magic." I didn't really have the perfect gingerbread color so I went with the closest I have. Just means I need more brown polish! Gol!

Then with white, I used Salon Perfect "Sugar Cube," and a striper brush paint on the squiggly icing lines on the top and bottom of the nail.

If you want to you can go back in with your brown and clean up the white lines.

Next with a dottin tool and the same white, add 3 button dots in between the icing lines.

On 2 nails go back and cover the white dots with red. I uses Pure Ice "Wear Red"

And on the other nails add in green. I used Duck Dynasty "Just Ducky I guess"

Then we top coat to seal it all in! I use Salon Perfect as always.

And that's it! Enjoy your yummy gingerbread cookie nails!
But don't eat them! Gol
Here's the video:

Here's all 12 of my designs for the challenge! I hope y'all have enjoyed them as much as I have!
Just 1 more design for Christmas Day!

Layered Snowflakes

Hey y'all!
Today I have a Christmas/Winter design that I've been wantin to do all month! I've seen a few people do this design this year and I had to do mine too!
It's a layered snowflake design!
Part Stampin, part Watermarble.

I used Bundle Monster Plate 319

and my Winstonia Store squishy stamper.

Then I used Salon Perfect "Smooth Sailing" blue to stamp with. Put your polish on the stamp of your choice.

Then use your scraper and I like to scrape towards me, it works better for me.

Immediately pick up the image with your stamper and roll it onto your nail. with this stamper you don't need to roll it, it will still transfer but I just rolled it anyways.

And There's the image on the nail, which we left naked to start with. I was sooooo happy with stampin today! It just worked perfectly and I was able to just run through all ten of my nails!

Next I added Salon Perfect "Snowed In" on top of the first stamps to represent snow.

Then we need our cup of water, which doesn't have to be perfect because we're not actually drawin a watermarble design. I used 1 drop of Pure Ice "Bikini" light blue into the water. Then I dip my nail into the blue and clean up the rest of the water. Take your nail out and see how it creates a snowy fog over the whole design.

Then cleanup all around your finger with a qtip and acetone and let it dry completely.

Now we're gonna do another layer of snowflakes, but with a darker blue Pure Ice "Party Hard." Place the polish on the snowflake plate.

Use your scraper. Pic it up with the stamper and place it onto the nail. You wanna place the darker snowflakes kind of overlapping the lighter ones but also coverin a little more blank space.

Then we do the marble again twice this time to create a deeper fog over the whole design.

Then top coat it to seal in your design. I use Salon Perfect as always.

and here's both hands.
Here's the video:

I just love the way this turned out! I'm so glad I finally got to do this design! I almost forgot it, until this weekend I remembered it!
