Sleeping Beauty By Elf

Hey y'all!
Today I have a fun new polish collection from Walgreens!
Elf has been releasing Disney princess products and including polish, I've never been able to find most of them, but yesterday ran across the new "Sleeping Beauty" Good vs. Evil collection. I was so excited because I've seen them and the bottles are beautiful and the swatches were gorgeous so I've decided to do my own swatches! I really hope to run across the rest of the princess collections soon, but that'll be up to fate gol! So let's start in on these swatches!

Here's the beautiful packaging!

Bottle Shots in their package.

\

First up is "Prissy Chrissy"

This is 3 coats with my regular pose and lighting.
It's a beautiful rosy neutral. Goes on Pretty smoothly. The Brushes aren't my favorite but the color builds beautifully.

Outdoor Sun Shot.

This is "Bubble Gum Pink"
Not sure what any of the names have to do with Sleeping Beauty but the colors are a nice representative.

This is 3 coats with my regular pose and lighting. It probably only needed 2 coats but I am a bit impatient in waiting for layers to dry so there was a bit of drag for me. I really love this pink though it's a nice pop.

An Outdoor Sun Shot.

Next is "Purple Dream"
I really love this one! I'm usually not a purple person but this one is very opal-y and sparkly!

This is 2 coats with my regular pose and lighting.
This color is gorgeous. Almost duochrome like, very opal, shimmery. It's a little more purple than this picture shows. Purple always tend to go bluer on camera for me.

An Outdoor Sun Shot. This shows the purple more.

Last up is "Sea Escape"
It's a very dark blue. It might actually be a black base with Blue shimmer. It's extremely dark it's hard to tell, but stunning either way!

This is 2 coats with my regular pose and lighting.
I'm glad I could capture a little bit of the blue shimmer because I tried so hard, took a million pictures it was very difficult to grab this one.

An Outdoor Sun Shot. Couldn't for the life of me get a good shot. It got even darker in the sun.

That's it for this one! Overall I'm very impressed with this collection! The bottles alone are gorgeous! The colors are beautiful. The only thing I would improve is the color names, they just don't fit too well for me. The packaging is great and enticing and the price is awesome! Only $4.99 at walgreens.

Hope y'all enjoyed I'll catch ya next time!

The Addams Family *snap snap*

Hey y'all!

Today I have a "Then & Now" post!
A year ago in manicure school we had to do some Halloween themed nails and I chose to do The Addams Family. I found a pic on google of the cartoon version, because I'm not that great at drawing real life people, and painted them all out on white acrylic nails. I remember thinking they were pretty good and feeling proud of myself, but now lookin back I can't believe how far I've come now! So this year I was randomly lookin through my nail album and found those nails and thought I should try to do a then and now post! So here we are!

Here are my originals from last year.
Now last year I was still just gettin started on drawing cartoons and just started using acrylic paints.
Also paintin on a fake hand that doesn't move well is a little difficult. But for me at this time this was a big deal that I had painted these.

Now for the big reveal of this years recreation!

I am extremely proud of these! I decided it would be better to do closeups so I could do more detail this time. I used all polish because I always forget to bring my acrylic paints home from my shop and yes I so need to buy a new set to keep at home as well. Anyways, I used a white background of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls." and then did all my outlining with the new Fantasy Makers Black. I also used Sinful Colors "My Turn" matte grey for some accents on their clothes and faces and also a no name light grey polish I got at ross a long while ago for Gomez and Grandma's faces as they are darker than the rest the family. These took me about 4 hours to do. I really wanted to take my time and put real effort into it. I had to redo a few things a couple times but overall it went pretty smoothly. I'm sure if I would've had acrylic paints the overall look would've been a little smoother but I don't mind it. I'm very proud of where I've come from over the past 4 years and this is just proof that practice does work!

Here's the picture that I used as inspiration

I also did some closeups I thought would be fun to see of each nail

Fester and Pugsley
you can see the little mess ups I had and I just didnt' wanna redo them, my white was runnin way low and not doin much good to do cover ups.

Morticia
This is my favorite nail. I really love how she came out especially considering how she came out the first time.

Gomez and Wednesday
This is one character I had to redo a couple times. His eyes weren't turnin out for me so I recovered his whole face twice before I got it. I really love how wednesday came out too. she's just so cute gol really old school lookin.

Lurch and Grandma
The pic came out a little blurry but I love the way Grandma turned out! hahah I just love the personality in her!

And I was just playin around havin some fun and made a Family Portrait with my nails! Gol

Here's a few more pics of this mani as I can't get over how much I love it! I really wish I didn't have to ever take it off! I'm thinkin of recreating it yet again on a fake set to keep!

Thanks for stoppin by! I hope y'all enjoyed!

Merely A Flesh Wound!

Hey y'all!
Today I have a Halloween ripped flesh design!
I was so inspired by (ThePolishedJuiceBox) on instagram. She did an awesome tape mani just like this in white and neons, definitely go check it out on her profile. The moment I saw it I immediately thought how I could turn it into a Halloween mani. I went right to scratch marks and thought a red base with neutral toppers would be cool!

So here's how I created this fun ripped flesh tape, dry brush mani!

Start with a red base.

Then add 3 strips of striping tape in an angle across your nail. You'll most likely want to do this one nail at a time to help with the tape process and to make sure it doesn't stick too much.

Use your first neutral color in a dry brush method. Wipe most the polish off the brush and gently drag it across your nail. I used Zoya "Jacqueline" first. You'll also want to do these next few steps quickly so the polish doesnt dry too much around the tape.

Add the next color Pure Ice "Shore Bet" in the opposite direction that you applied your first color.

Next add your third color, which is a darker brown to give some definition. I used Zoya "louise"

Lastly before removin the tape I added one last coat of Pure Ice "Shore Bet" to blend some of the dark brown.

Now immediately remove the tape to reveal the red scratch marks underneath.

And there ya go! In a few simple steps you can have some fun unique ripped flesh nails!

Make sure to clean up around your cuticles and add a quick dry top coat!

Here's a few pics of the final look!

Do The Monster Mesh!

Hey y'all!
Today I have some Monster Mesh for you!
I was lookin for another quick halloween mani and was inspired by my halloween mesh cheesecloth hangin in my livin room!

So here's how to get this look!

Start with naked nails, base coat only.
(my middle nail has a patch so it looks weird)

Then take a sponge and some black polish. Dip the sponge and sponge most of the polish off the sponge so you can do a "dry" sponge, like a dry brush technique.

Next take a piece of foil and add some nude polish to it. Add some acetone to the polish and thin it out. Dip a qtip into the polish and dot onto the nail so you get nude see through bubbles on the nail.

Then just clean up all around the cuticles with a qtip and a small brush with acetone. Top coat it and you're done!

\

no idea why the dots look blue in these pics it is not blue at all in person! hahaha

That's it for this one y'all! Hope you enjoyed!

Sparkle Webs

Hey y'all!
Today I have a super easy, glitzy spiderweb mani for you!

I was out shoppin this mornin when a corner of my previous mani popped right off my nail! So there's a walmart out there with a lucky little piece of art by yours truly! buahahahhahahah!
Disaster of course, because I hate to go out with chipped polish, but luckily I was headed home!
So I was drivin home thinkin of what I could possibly do on my nails that was quick and easy, but still in the halloween theme. When I remembered the handy dandy spiderweb! It's a classic and always works in a pinch!

So let's get started!
First you start off with a base color. Mine is Sinful Colors "Silver Bells." Which is a really nice opaly silver with silver round glitter. This is 3 coats to opacity for me.

Next make criss cross black lines on all your nails. Except for on the ring finger I did an accent differently from the rest.

Then add more lines in between all the criss cross lines and a few coming off the line on the accent nail as well. (this is quite difficult to describe. gol luckily there's a picture.)

Lastly add arches in all the empty triangle spaces, to make the web.

That's all there is to it!
Here's a couple pics of the final look!

This design was a little rushed as I didn't have much time, but overall I'm happy with how it came out and love the color combo.
Hope y'all enjoyed and I'll see ya next time!
