1 Year As A Nail Tech!

Hey Y'all!
Today I have a special post!
I've officially been workin at my salon as a nail tech for 1 year today!
I started work on February 1st of 2014 at my wonderful shop!
It's been a crazy year and things have changed and grown but it's been great!
I can't believe I'm 1 year into my career!
Of course I had to do my nails for the occasion!
I used: Sephora Formula X "Eureka" pink, Loreal "Masked Affair," Salon Perfect "Oil Slick" and OPI "DS Coronation."  I did a little stampin and added "I Do Nails."

Things have definitely changed since day 1.
I was scared and nervous and never felt I really fit into my shop, but over the year that's all changed. I've gained skills, comfort, clients and most importantly confidence!
If you asked me 3 years ago I never in a million years would've been able to tell you that I would one day be a nail tech and that it would be my absolute passion! I was a musical theater junkie and really thought one day I'd be on Broadway, but 3 years ago that all changed when I started doin my own nails. I joined this crazy thing called Instagram and slowly fell in love with this polish world! Then a year and a half ago I went to school to get my nail license and this whole crazy passion exploded! I've been in Nail it Magazine a few times, I receive products for review and am gainin new wonderful clients everyday! I can't believe any of this is happenin to me! I get to do nails literally everyday of my life! You'd think I might get sick of it, but it's just made my passion grow beyond my wildest dreams! I think what makes it truly amazin is that I already had the nail polish passion for my own nails before I decided to do others. So many nail techs I've seen or talked to only do it because they have to or are good at it and need money, but I do it purely because I love it!
It's been a crazy, fun, excitin, terrifyin, anxiety ridden, amazin year!

Here's some of my favorite moments or things from this last year:
Flowers from my first client on my first day!

Reupholsterin my new desk chair!

I loved the day I added this smile rock into our plant outside our front door!

Movin my station to it's new spot in the shop was so much fun and I love it more!

Makin my client bulletin board has been one of my favorite things.

Makin my own sugar scrub for pedicures is a real treat!

Takin my Christmas card photo at the shop was so special!

Gettin a free shutterfly calendar with all my nails as the pics and puttin it up at the shop is so fun!

Here's a few of my favorite clients:
My mom's valentine nails I did on my first day.

Dia De Los Muertos

My first bridal pedi! Somethin blue!

Fun Vegas Pedi!

I loved this bright orange floral set!

Watermarblin on my best friend Anatali was super fun! And many mani pedi's on her little sister.
Doin a fullset of purple flakies on my bestie Sarah, about a year after the first time I guinea pigged on her in school!

and now for more pics of my nails today:

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! A little sneak peek into my life.
I am so thankful and grateful for everythin God has blessed me with this last year and can't wait to look back next year and see what it has brought! Also thank you to everyone who's helped me this year, my clients, friends, family and company's that have entrusted me with reviewin your products and all my followers here on my social medias! I appreciate everythin y'all have done for me!

TNAG: Rainbows

Hey Y'all!
It's TNAG time again! Today is Rainbows!
I did 2 designs but my first one I absolutely hated so I redid them late last night and even then I wasn't 100% happy with them but here we are anyways.
I just wasn't very inspired with this theme, I couldn't think of anythin I really wanted to do.
I chose a T.V. Rainbow Screen.

Here's how:

Start with a white base. I used Salon Perfect "Sugar Cube."
It doesn't have to be perfect because we're gonna cover it up.

Then we're usin Salon Perfect Nail Art Liners for this design.
"Blue Skies" "Pinstripe" "Ray Of Light" "Spring" "Purple Petal" "Laser Beam" "White Out" "Black Ink"

Startin with black, I separated the tips from each nail.

On the pointer I filled in half the nail with yellow. Draw a line down the middle and fill in one side and leave the other side white.

On the middle nail fill in the first half next to the yellow with light blue.

and Lime green on the other half.

On the ring nail fill in the first half with purple.

and the other half with red.

Last on the pinky paint the first half blue and leave the other half white.

Next we go back to the black lines and under the yellow, blue, purple and blue paint that half white again, so we can put another color over it.

Under the yellow we are going to paint the new white line light blue.

Under the blue we paint the white line purple.

Under the purple I used the darker blue.

Then on the pinky and ring nail I filled the whole rest of the tip black.

On the middle nail I painted half of the tip black and the other half blue.

and the pointer nail tip is white and blue.

Use your favorite top coat to seal it all in. I use Salon Perfect.

and that's it! You have your T.V. Rainbow Screen.
Here's the video tutorial:

I'm not 100% happy with these but I am glad I tried somethin a little out of the box, or rather in the box! hehehe!
Hope y'all enjoyed this!

Neon Abstract Stampin

Hey Y'all!
Wasn't plannin on doin my nails today BUUUUUT I woke up and felt like it so there ya go!
Sometimes the addiction leads you when you least expect it! buahahhah!

I decided to go with some Neon today and of course Yellow is my fave so hooray for my favorite neon yellow, Island Girl "Sugar Cane!"
AND
because I can't get over how much I love my creative shop stamper and new born pretty store plate I had to do some stampin on top!

Here's a quick tutorial for this super easy design!
Start with a neon yellow base. I used Island Girl "Sugar Cane."

Then I'm usin this vintage plate from Born Pretty Store BP-L007.
Note: sorry this plate is currently out of stock but you can sign up for notifications when it's back in stock.

I'm usin Salon Perfect "Oil Slick" and placin it on just 1 of the leaf like designs.

Then usin my creative shop stamper, I scrape the polish towards me.

Pick up the image with your stamper, again mine is creative shop.
You can preorder them with Mia of BSquaredLacquer

Usin a piece of tape I removed any extra designs that may have been picked up on the stamper that you don't want.

Line it up to your nail. I placed mine in the center and roll it onto your nail.

Use your favorite top coat to seal it all in. I use Salon Perfect.

And that's it!
Here's the video tutorial:

Hope y'all enjoy this one! I think neon was in order for my life right now!
I am so enjoyin my nails right now y'all! It's truly my passion and I love sharin it with y'all! I feel like I'm postin a lot lately but that's just me!
